“>An amazing day has come in my life…
The day I ”officially” became a Mom!
Not in the traditional way, mind you, for today I gave “legal birth” to my (now) 7-year-old daughter! :)
Long story short, I met her and her father when she was just a few months shy of 3-years-old. Her biological mother had many issues in her life and agreed to terminate her parental rights in Oct 2007 which allowed me step in and legally adopt her! The 3 of us have lived together for over 3 years now so our home life is pretty cozy at this stage of the game. But its nice to be “official”.
Best part is I got to become a Mom without the morning sickness, epidural and pain!
On a lighter note, here is humorous blog post about a man who buckled up his BEER instead of his 5-yr-old son. Thanks, MomLogic!
Until you have kids, you can’t fully appreciate this cartoon! You can IMAGINE but you can’t truly appreciate it! =)

Ok, I know this is probably ridiculous to most but something quite amazing happened in my life a few days ago that I just had to share.
SHE folded MY clothes.
SHE! The 7-yr-old folded *my* clothes! Out of the dryer. Fresh. Dried. FOLDED. And they were MINE!
After 4 1/2 years of washing, drying and folding HER clothes, my 7-yr-old folded MY clothes! AMAZING! What a moment! I couldn’t believe it. It was morning time and I had just gotten out of the shower. I casually mentioned to my 7-yr-old that I had forgotten to grab a pair of socks. She then gleefully piped up, “Do you want MEEE to get you a pair?!!?” I sort of crumpled my brow thinking, “SHE is going to get ME a pair of socks? I don’t get it. I get HER socks every morning when she forgets to grab a pair (which is most mornings).” And then she said it, “I’ll get you a pair because I know where they are because *I* folded them for you yesterday!” And she happily skipped off to to our laundry area get them… While I tried my best NOT to pass out. The day had come.
THE day. The day I just presumed would never come. The day that SHE would fold MY clothes.
Amazing.
Parenting is indeed full of joyful surprises.
