About Me
Hello! I’d like to think I’m much more than this, but below is a start:
Animal lover. Vegetarian. Optimist. Driven. Workaholic. Cheerful. Passionate. Giftshop owner. Computer Programmer. Occasional bartender. Three-time homeowner. Proud to say Never Been Married. Jeep lover. Former motorcycle mechanic. Have tatoos. Always changing. Always learning. Sensitive (as in “I see dead people”). I like adding kooky colors to my short dark hair (say, purple or pink). Not for the attention but because I just don’t care what others think of my hair. Its only HAIR, folks. It grows out. Get over it. Have a little fun once in a while.
For those who might be curious about the name of this blog, here’s the story: I have japanese kanji tatoo on my inner right wrist that means “free spirit, enjoy the journey, enjoy this trip around“, hence NJOY THIS TRIP dot com. Plus my mother’s name is Joy so I like the play on words as well.
I have also always liked the word: SOJOURN or SOJOURNER
so·journ
[n. soh-jurn; v. soh-jurn, soh-jurn]
–noun
| 1. | a temporary stay: during his sojourn in Paris. |
–verb (used without object)
| 2. | to stay for a time in a place; live temporarily: to sojourn on the Riviera for two months. |
Which kind of falls into the ‘enjoy this trip around’ belief. That I am only here on Earth on a temporary journey. So in addition to this website I have also acquired the domain name: sojournerjaret.com
Not exactly sure what I will do with it yet but I now own it!
My first blog started on blogger (approx 3 days) then I moved it to wordpress and then 7 days later I moved it here (because I’m so impulsive I just HAD to buy this domain name). But it was originally titled: iamjaret.xxxxxxx.com
“I am Jaret” came about because my name is JARET. That’s who I AM! =) Haha, ok, no. Just kidding. I chose the “I Am” somewhat due to the “I Am” movement which is in part, described as follows:
The movement teaches that the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent creator God (’I AM’ – Exodus 3:14) is in all of us as a spark from the Divine Flame, and that we can experience this presence, love, power and light – the power of the Violet Consuming Flame of Divine Love – through quiet contemplation and by repeating ‘affirmations’ and ‘decrees’. By ‘affirming’ something one desires, one can cause it to happen.Although I am not religious *nor* a member of the “I AM” movement I do believe that we are creatures of love, power and light and that each of us *absolutely* has the ability to create our own happiness. That said, I Am JARET. No more, no less. And admittedly, I’m living quite the fulfilling life this time around. =) Namaste.
